ANNUAL FHLM YOUTH OUTREACH & ED TRIP

14TH TO 19TH MAY 2026

DAY 1: On 14th May 2026, I reached the Centre at 6:40am and everyone helped with loading the mini-bus taxi. I then gave a prayer, and we set off at 7:10 am for our 7 hour journey to Masindi in western Uganda.

We took a different way to avoid Kampala and it took us through villages and via Mubende, and Homia City. We had a special treat along the way and were able to see the new Homia City Stadium. It was built for the AFCON tournaments and holds up to 20,000 persons!  We thank the good lord so much who gave us journey mercies to Masindi, as we arrived around 3pm. After lunch we settled into our hotel and chilled for a few hours.

Later in the evening we walked to Masindi Hotel and I arranged a spontaneous tour. Masindi Hotel is the oldest hotel in Uganda, and a National Historical Site. It was interesting to hear about the hotels history and the famous people who have stayed there, including Earnest Hemingway.

DAY 2: On the 15th we woke up at 7:00am, and I led Morning Glory from Colossians 3:23-25 and the theme was Finding Joy In Our Daily Work.

After breakfast we were off to Windows Of Life Children’s Home. After introductions we broke into two teams, Children and Youth. The children’s team led by Pamela sang Sunday school songs, shared about the story of Joseph, and colored pictures. The youth team led by Ronnie and Aunt Babirye shared about being the light of the world from Mathew 5:14-16, had discussion time, and had a game of What If.

After lunch we came back to the children’s home and had game time!! After games a dance party led by Pius started up and it was such a fun time!! It was a fantastic way to end our day with the children.

DAY 3: On the 16th, we woke up at 7:00am and had morning glory led by Babirye. Her theme was “God doesn’t call the qualified but He qualifies the called” from Jeremiah 1:6-10.

After breakfast we headed over to Masindi Miracle Centre Church where we met Pastor Robert and some of other pastors. We then followed Robert to the village of Kyema where we met the rest of the evangelism team. We split into 5 teams for door to door evangelism. The team Ronnie and I were with only visited 2 homes in our allotted time, but it was a very fruitful time! The 1st house we visited the teenage girl, Roda, was born again, but her Auntie Fiona, Uncle Godfrey were not. We had a good conversation and prayer with them all and planted a seed in them that I know the Holy Spirit will water. At the 2nd house we met a family of 5 persons and a few of the friends of the older son, Simon. After lots of sharing and questions from Simon and his friend Justice Pastor Robert spoke to everyone in their language. They all decided to get saved. Simon, Justice, Innocent, the father, Samuel, two ladies; a total of 9 persons got saved! We praise God for His goodness!

We then we headed to Masindi town for lunch and then straight to Masindi Juvenile Prison for an afternoon outreach to the 35 young men at this remand home. We started with an opening prayer by Pius followed by introductions, then praise and worship by Carol and Comfort. Pamela shared from Mathew 5:14-16 and her theme was “Massive Light.” After her interesting story, and insightful teaching she concluded with ways one can have the massive light as they follow Jesus; 1) Love one another even your enemies, 2) forgive yourself and forgive others. Pamela gave an alter call and all 35 young men stood up and asked to be saved. I led them in the salvation prayer. We give ALL glory and thanksgiving to the Lord for using us to bring these souls into the Kingdom of God!!  It was a full on day but I’m so thankful to the Lord for His grace, and strength, and being our words and guide!

Then in the evening we went back to Kyema for a community football match between Miracle Centre Church and the Kyema Community Team. At half time Eddy and I spoke to the crowd about being a light to the world. This day was PACKED with activities but we give all the glory to God for giving us the grace, and strength to serve Him!

DAY 4: On the 17th, Sunday morning at 5:00am 6 of our youth were picked up by Pastor Robert and went to Kings FM. They spoke from 5:30am to 6:30am about the outreaches in Masindi and shared stories about the evangelism time in Kyema Village.

Later they joined us for breakfast and then we all headed to Masindi Miracle Center Church for service. We were blessed to minister our trip theme song “Salt of the Earth”.  We also visited the Sunday school kids, shared a few songs, and Pius led a short Bible Quiz with them. Afterwards we joined the main service and heard a great sermon on

Then it was time to pack up and head to Murchison Falls National Park where we had our lunch. After Lunch, we did an evening game drive and managed to see many animals like lions, elephants, Buffalos, cobs, giraffes, antelopes, water bucks and warthogs. On drive back to main gate we had a rear sighting of a pair of Abyssinian hornbills. Then we went back to the student Centre, had dinner and everyone went to refresh and get some sleep!

DAY 5: On the 18th, we woke up at 6:30am and had morning glory led by Juliet and Carol and the following was shared; theme, “Christ’s Love Is Seen In Good Works” from Philippians 2:1-11.

After the morning devotion, we had our breakfast and went to the morning boat cruise on the Victoria Nile where we managed to see many hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, and birds. The current was so strong so we got as close as one can to the bottom of Murchison Falls. It was amazing!!

Then we went back to the student Centre, picked our packed lunch and headed to the Top of the Falls. We were racing against time, as we were supposed to be out of the park by 1:30pm, so we had very little time at the Top of the Falls. But I knew that this was a highlight of the park and everyone had to see so we rushed, took photos, and were amazing at the falls amazing, thunderous power!!! As we were heading out of the park a big thunderstorm caught us and we ended up being to the main gate 30 minutes late. By God’s grace we were protected and also let go and didn’t have to pay an extra day fee for everyone!

We got to the Ziwa trading center in the evening and were disappointed by the accommodation we had held. After over an hour of searching we finally found a decent place that could room us all for the night.

DAY 6: On the 19th May 2026, we woke up at 6am packed and had morning glory led by Ruth and Ronald. Their theme was “Trusting God’s Plan for Your Life” and they shared from 2 Kings 5:1-14.

After breakfast we went to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. After registering we headed on our way to the trekking office, and on the way we were blessed to see zebra, warthogs, and waterbucks. After we donned our gum boats, our UWA Ranger gave us an introduction to the Rhino Sanctuary and shared all of the rules and regulations. Then we drove to our walking safari area. As we silently followed our ranger in a straight line we came upon a crash of 9 rhinos. One senior bull was surrounding the crash and spraying his territory. We also saw a mother feeding her calf. It was exciting because I had never these things on previous personal trips to the sanctuary. We spent over an hour with the crash and got so close to them. What an amazing experience!

By 11:30am, we started our long journey back to Masaka, had lunch on the road and arrived in Masaka by 8pm in the night. We thank the Lord who gave us journey mercies, protection and provision throughout the whole trip and outreach. May God exceedingly bless all the people that prayed for us and financed this outreach and education trip!!
