SOAR Youthz Success Stories

Mukisa David completed studies from Negenda International Academy of Art & Design (NIAAD) in 2016.  David was in the FHLM Residential Program from 2010-2016. His story is one of HOPE! David comes from a very poor subsistence farming. He grew up with an abusive father who passed away when he was 11 years old. David’s mother and 8 other siblings are still alive and reside in or around Uganda. His mother is a very strong Christian and has passed on her love of the Lord to all her children and especially David, as he has a zeal for prayer. David has a passion for ALL things sports related, but his main love is football (soccer). During his time in secondary school he was a Sports Prefect. He carried his leadership skills to NIAAD and was the Guild Finance Prefect for 3 years. After graduation David has expanded his knowledge and love of art and photography into a successful business-David Mukisa Photography.

DSC07207 - CopyFaridah Nansereko graduated from Uganda College of Commerce-Pakwach with a diploma in Accounting in November of 2015.

Her story is one of determination, perseverance, and FAITH! She was the 5th child born to a very devout Muslim family, three more children were to follow before her father died in an accident in 2009. This devastated the family who was left without an income, apart from the meager earnings from her mother’s vegetable stand. In 2012 she entered Advanced Level at Timothy Girls’ High School on a school bursary, still a devote Muslin. Then one day she heard a voice saying: “Why don’t you get saved?” She turned around to see where the voice was coming from, but no-one was around. Again she heard the voice saying “Why don’t you get saved?” The voice came back with the same message until she decided to obey the voice and give her heart to Jesus! This was the beginning of her new life- a life of joy in the Lord and extreme persecution from her Muslim family. Since that day her  in Jesus has become stronger and stronger and she continues to grow deeper in love with Jesus!

Since she completed college with honors she was immediately given a position as lead account at Elder Mirco Finance in Masaka Town. She attends Masaka Pentecostal Church weekly. We at FHLM are very proud of her accomplishments and success. In 2017 she was nominated to the FHLM Board as the Treasure. She married in Dec 2018 and her and her husband are now expecting their 1st child.

Robert Twinomujuni completed Secondary 6 from Masaka Secondary School in 2012. His story is about LOVE!! In 2011 he was led by the Lord to start -Born Like Others. The organization empowers disadvantaged children (orphans, neglected, vulnerable), showing the the Lord’s unfailing LOVE.
