Swearing in Time

It is finally time to swear in the Ugandan Political campaign winners from the February elections. Last week was full of swearing in ceremonies. Of course I always end up in some kind of political circle, so it was not a surprise that one of the Masaka council members invited me to the Greater Masaka Municipal Swearing in Party at the District Headquarters in Ssaza last Friday. I felt it my civic duty to go, so I got there about 1pm. I was able to see four or five council members swore in. There were only two speeches and for Uganda that is not bad. The entertainment started with traditional dancing from a local primary school, St John Paul Mugwanya Complex. The dancers were very good and I enjoyed the traditional music too. By 4pm the event was wrapping up and I headed back to the office. My civic duty was complete for the day.
