Bonfire Night
On Sunday night we had a bonfire in honor of Robert’s birthday, which was in September, and to celebrate my pending birthday. We all enjoyed sitting around the fire telling stories and warming ourselves as it was a cool night. The boys told me that is was Ugandan tradition for the elders to tell stories and to share information on how to live life better. So I started off the stories with one that ended up scaring Rock but when it was said and done we all had a good laugh when we saw how far he jumped! Robert and Shadia joined in the story telling too. After they were finished I told a true story about my grandparents and how much they loved each other and despite all they went through they were married for 55 years. That story spawned a bunch of relationship questions. Guess it was the elder’s time to give life skill information. Soon after a few of the youth from Love in Action came over and join in the fun. We all danced and sang songs. After a very enjoyable time it was time to end the festivities. Robert closed the fun in prayer and thanked the Lord for the very wonderful night!
