1 For 50
Last week I was blessed to be invited to an East Africa Scripture Union (SU) training with 1 For 50. This conference brought together SU staff, other Non-Government Organizations (NGO), and churches from around East Africa. There were representatives from Sudan, DRC (Congo), Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and of course Uganda at the training. 1 for 50 is not an organization but a movement to train up 1 teacher (trainers) to go out into the world and disciple 50 children each! It seems like a monumental task but if we start to pass on the knowledge that we learned in the training last week to other teacher- trainers then the task becomes easier to reach the children.
This training was so beneficial to me being a youth worker, evangelist, and a person that has a new organization. Working with youth on a daily I see the need for discipleship. I will be putting all the tools, concepts and knowledge that I learned into action as soon as possible. Actually last night in my Bible Study, I used one of the concepts of the thumb being the digit that “unites” the fingers and allows the hand to function with full potential. Just as in 1 John 4: 7-9, God’s first 4 Explanations of Love are; why God creates, why God cares, why Christ died and why we receive eternal life. The 5th Explanation being why we are free to choice is the “thumb” that pulls everything together and allows the fingers and hand to work in unison. Just as without choosing God as our Lord and Savior we can’t work for the Kingdom and life is chaotic and without purpose.
I thank God for allowing me to be a part of this training and giving new tools and insight on how to disciple the children and youth of Uganda and the world. If you’d like to know more about 1 For 50 please check out the web-site link below:
