Uganda General Elections

Which one is the Mzungu and which Voted for Musevuni?

Voting Lines in Masaka Town

Please continue to keep Uganda in prayer, as we are in the midst of General Elections. The Presidential and MP elections were yesterday, the 18th. So far things have been very peaceful in Masaka, but some of the other districts have seen violence. In Mbale district, in Eastern Uganda, the army has been called in to keep the peace as riots broke out.

Since the Uganda Electoral Commission is required to announce the winner of the Presidential Election within 48 hours after the polls close, there is still a potential for unrest. Thus far, the Presidential incumbent, Yoweri Museveni, is leading the polls. Also there are Local Government Elections on Wed and Friday of next week. Those could have very interesting results. We don’t want a Egypt, Ivory Coast or Lybia to happen here! Please keep up the prayers! Thanks in advance!
