Love Kampala Festival
Wow what a great time in Kampala at the Love Kampala Festival! The boys; Rock, David & Travis, and I traveled on the morning of 24 Sept to Kampala. When we got into the “Big City”, as the boys put it, we went straight to Kololo Airstrip where the festival was being held. It was like a reunion because we meet up with Daddy Brian, Mummy Eunice and their children, Duke & Deon. After the hugs and tears the group of us all went to check out the BMX and motocross riders. The boys were amazed that a person could jump a motorcycle off a ramp, high in the air, do tricks and then land safely on the other side. They just watched in wonder!
After some time of watching it was time to have some lunch, so we all wondered over to the food area and watched the activities that were happening on the children’s stage. There were puppet shows, dancing and praise and worship. Much conversation and catching up was being done with all of us. About 4pm the music on the main-stage started.
As crowds gathered we were treated to wonderful praise music by a few Christian contemporary artists and then Nicole C. Mullen came on stage. I was really looking forward to seeing and hearing her performance and she did not disappointment me! She really got the crowd moving and in the Spirit! After she preformed, Andrew Palau came on stage, gave a moving testimony and an alter call. When he ask who wanted to accept Jesus as their savior hundreds of hands went up! It was awesome!
Following the alter call it was time for Heaven and us to celebrate the new Brothers and Sister in the Kingdom! They brought out Papa San to perform and the crowd went wild, dancing and celebrating to the Christian reggae beat of his music! Wow what a day! We were all tired to it was time for the boys to head to Daddy Brian’s for the night and me to head to the guesthouse.
Sunday was much of the same but we were able to see Wilson Bugembeso, David’s favorite singing pastor! All in all it was a fantastic time with the Lord and an amazing weekend had by all! I’m so Blessed to have been able to have the boys experience this festival!
