FHLM FEBRUARY 2026 NEWSLETTER
GREETINGS:
Greetings from Masaka! I hope this update finds you all healthy, happy and blessed! I also hope your month of February was wonderful and full of God’s LOVE! 1 John 4:9 “In this the love of God was manifested towards us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.”
DIRECTOR’S UPDATE:
FHLM YOUTH CAMP TESTIMONIES: I wanted to share a story about camp and some of the youth’s camp testimonies. First off, the day we went out for door to door evangelism I was with Uncle Douglas group. After we had went to 2 homes, shared the gospel, and prayed with them, we were walking to another home. Patrick, a boy in our group, stopped Uncle Douglas and said I can’t go on until I do this and before we go to another home. I want to make today my turning point! Right then and there Douglas led Patrick in prayer and he gave his life to Jesus. Then we all prayed over Patrick and hugged him. What a joyous day in the Kingdom of God! Afterwards I noticed Patrick’s countenance had changed. He was much more joyful, and open. I praise God for this testimony and the ones below!
- Pamela: This was one of my best camps because in this camp I was able to realize a lot of things about my God given purpose. I was able to get revelation of different verses of the Bible. I also made new friends.
- Joshua Kibanja: He said that, “This is a very different camp compared to the camps I have been to.” This is different because it is more of self-discovery and discipleship than other camps which have more preaching and deliverance. He also said that he really enjoyed evangelism because he had taken long without doing it, so he was awakened.
- Eddie Musasizi: He said that according the camps he had been attending this was so amazing because there is more time to concentrate on God since it is a fasting camp. He said he was able to connect to God and have self-discovery during quite time and prayer walks.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY: The 49th Janani Luwum commemoration ceremony took place on 16th Feb. This year’s theme was “Anchored in Christ for Peace and Stability”. This holiday is dedicated to the life and service on Janani Luwum, former archbishop of the Church of Uganda, who was murdered by Idi Amin. He was a leading voice in criticizing and protesting the Amin dictatorship.
AGM: On 21st Feb we had our Annual General Meeting for the ministry and it was a marvelous day! We elected a new Assistant Director—Ambrose Ssenteza, a Treasurer- Grace Mukasiine, and a new General Board Member- Douglas Yiga. Also Pamela was recognized for her 5 years of loyal and dedicated service to the board and youth of FHLM. She handed over her leadership role as FHLM Youth Representative to Ronald. I was really blessed by the attendees and the joy had by all. We are looking forward to how God will use the board and the new members for the ministry and His glory!
YOUTH UPDATES:
BIRTHDAYS: Ronnie had a birthday on 3rd Feb (see below). Pamela celebrated her 19th birthday on 28th with Ruth, Charity, and I at Timothy Girls’ HS. Since it was Pamela’s reporting day for school I brought cake and a card that everyone had signed and we sang Happy Birthday to her in the dining hall. Though it wasn’t a “party” we still enjoyed!
UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: Our students at university, Justine, Eddy and Immy, are all doing well. In Feb they received their previous semester results. In Immy’s 1st semester of law she performed well with mostly B’s. Eddy report was for 2nd year 1st semester of pharmacy and he attained a 3.5GPA for the semester. He is also did a practical at the university hospital. As for Justine, she completed 3rd year, 1st semester in statistics with outstanding marks of A’s and B’s. We are very proud of all of them and thankful to God for how far He has brought them!!
PAMELA: She received her secondary 4 Ordinary Level National Exam results on 13th Feb. She passed all 9 subjects she took with A’s and B’s. Pass grades are now like the grading scale of the U.S. (A to F). We praise God for giving her the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to complete so well. Since she passed so well she is attending Timothy Girl’s HS for her Advanced Level education. She reported on 28th Feb and is taking a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). We are very proud of her accomplishments, her dedication to academics and we look forward to what God has instore for her future!
YOUTH PROGRAMS:
BIBLE STUDIES: Throughout February we read through and dug deep into Exodus chapters 30 to 33. On Feb 17th as we read through and discussed Exodus 32:1-35, I would say that this Bible study was very impactful and pertinent for the youth and staff. It showed us that we need to be patient with God. We learned that a leader should not be led or influenced by people, but by God. We also learned to be appreciative for what the Lord has done in our lives. We also learned not to worship idols, nor be quick to turn away from what the Lord commands us to do. There are some comments from our discussion;
- I shared from verses 21-24 that Aaron was influenced by other people according to his decision. He also passed on the blame to other people, as we many times do.
- William shared from verses 19 – 20 and said that people have gods today like the small things we do to relieve anger. It’s like going to worship the calf instead of going to God who takes away the sin. Moses’ anger to kill people wasn’t just anger, but it was a sign to the people how bad they had done. That’s why they were killed.
- Ronald said that what Moses did was good because he gave them options to choose. Aaron was blaming others instead of taking the blame on himself.
- Pamela said that leaders are held accountable than the people they are leading instead of blaming the people like how Aaron did.
MOVIE DAY: Since we were given an extra week of Term Holiday we did some fun activities! On 2nd Feb we watched “Case For Christ”. A true story about how Lee Strobel, an investigative journalist and self-proclaimed atheist, sets out to disprove the existence of God after his wife becomes a Christian. He used his investigative skills to debunk the myths associated with Christianity, but he could not. After seeing all the truth before him he finally accepts Jesus as His Lord and Savior. We had the following lessons learnt from the movie.
- Pius said that love inspires people to the kingdom of God. Lee was inspired by his wife to be a born again.
- Ronald learnt persistence. Lee’s wife didn’t give up on him, she was persistent with him.
- Mark shared about love and said he learnt to show love to one another as Lee showed love to his daughter. Though his heart was somehow wicked, but we see he came to his daughter and asked for forgiveness.
- Charity learnt encouragement. Nurse Alfie was so encouraging to Lee’s wife. We should make good friends that will always guide us and teach us to live a Christ-like life.
- Ruth said that actions speak louder than words. As nurse Alfie helped Lee’s daughter and after wards, she talked about Jesus which changed Lee’s wife perspective.
- Pamela learnt that however much you run away from God, He will always chase you. God is never far but we are the ones that are always far from him.
- Shakirah said that everyone has his/her real timing when it comes to salvation. God knew us even before entering our mother’s wombs.
FUN DAY OUT: We were thankful for the warm sunny day on 4th Feb as we spent the day at Masaka Cultural Resort for the youth’s fun day out. When we reached there, some went swimming and others went for photo shoots while waiting for lunch. After lunch we celebrated the Best Youth of 2025 based on their per term assessments. Pamela was the Overall Youth of 2025 and Pius was the Overall Residential Youth of 2025. We congratulate both Pamela and Pius on a year well done!
Then we had one more celebration, Ronald’s 16th Birthday! We lite candles on the cake and sang a few rounds of Happy Birthday to him. Then he and Pius cut the cake and we fed “baby Ronnie” birthday cake. It was a great way to end our fun day out!
OUTREACH: In the afternoon of 5th Feb we went to Masaka Referral Hospital for an outreach in the maternity ward. We went with liquid soap, some small bibles, tracts, and the bangles to give them. Above all we went to give them Jesus! We prayed for the mother’s provision and also prayed for the mothers whom their babies were still in nursery for some special treatment and care. After visiting the ward we went outside to share the message of Jesus with the caregivers, mostly the ladies aunties and mothers, which had accompanied the ladies to the hospital to care for them. We shared stories of hope and prayed with them. It was a lovely afternoon!
WORSHIP DAY: Our main aim of the day was to bless Shakirah, as she was soon to go on maternity leave, so on 8th Feb we had an amazing afternoon of worship, praise and prayer! After a beautiful time of singing and ushering in the presence of God, Ronald shared a relevant word from Isaiah 66:7-14. Then he shared from Exodus 1:18 20 about how God gave the Hebrew women the ability to deliver fast, with courage and power. He said it is the same God that will enable Aunt Shakirah to do so. He also shared the story of Moses’ birth in Exodus 2:1-2. He said that his mother gave birth to a fine son and that he was born for a purpose and known by God. After the word we prayed for and laid hands on Shakirah for a safe and healthy delivery and declared the same spirit the Hebrew women and Moses mom had, that God will give her. We also prayed over the candidates; Mark, Pius, Charity and Ruth, as they soon begin a new school year. Then we all prayed for great exams results for Pamela and William. We ended by praying over me and for the ministry as a whole. This day was so special!
BIBLE QUIZ: On 14th Feb we all participated in a Bible Quiz. Being Valentine’s Day it was fitting that Team Love won! What a fun day we all had.
BROTHERS IN CHRIST: New Update; The guys have decided to have Brothers In Christ quarterly, so we kicked off this year’s program on 28th Feb. The program was led by Uncle Precious from Scripture Union Masaka. He shared from 1 Samuel 17:33 and spoke to the guys about Self-Esteem. Here are a few points from the lesson that William said impacted him.
- The verse illustrates and tells us that the past hidden battle (with the lion and bear) that David had prepared him, and us as individuals, for greater public challenges
- We should not let anyone discourage us based on what he sees now. We should always be prepared because what we do in the past determines our future.
- A lion does not need to prove it is king, it simple embodies that reality.
- In terms of self-esteem this means recognizing your inherent values, talents, and worth, without needing constant validation from others.
- Let Your Roar Be Your Action. The lion roar is a determination of authority, not just noise.
- This teaches us that self-esteem is built through decisive action standing up for oneself and letting accomplishment speak for themselves
- Courage in the Face of Fear. Lions are not fearless, they feel fear, but take action anyway.
- High self-esteem involves tackling challenges, taking risks, and not letting fear paralyze you
- Quite Confidence and Dignity. True power is silent until it must speak
- A lion moves with calm assurance showing that high self-esteem is grounded and steady not loud or boastful
I’m grateful to Uncle Precious for imparting such a great message to these young men as they face the challenges and uncertainties of life as young men of God!
BELA BULUNGI (GOOD-BYE):
