Youth Update: The week of 03 Feb Rock and Babirye started their 1st Term of the 2014 school year.  Rock is now in Secondary 4 which is a candidate class. As this is Babirye’s first year with FHLM we decided to move her from an over crowed, under staffed government school, to Masaka Secondary School, one of the best schools Uganda. She was a bit nervous her first day, but after I gave her a tour of the “big” school and got her settled into class she stepped into her Secondary 3 class with confidence. We are still looking for a full time school fee sponsor for Babirye. If the Lord puts it on your heart to sponsor her please contact me at reetsindiego@yahoo.com Thank you and God Bless!

On 08 Feb seven of the youth that had attended our January Prayer Retreat Weekend gathered together for a fun day of spreading the gospel. As a group we went back up to Camp Nedgeya and painted HALLELUYAH on the side of a building at the campsite. It is our unique way of spreading the Good News of the Lord by painting Praise to our God for ALL to see! We also individually painted personal praises like; LOVE GOD, JESUS IS THE LORD, FREEDOM IN CHRIST, TRUST IN GOD FOREVER, FAITH, HOPE, LOVE and PEOPLE ARE RUNNING TO DISCOVER JESUS DO THE SAME. It was an awesome day!!

On 20 Feb Faridah and I spent the day at her old secondary school, Timothy Girl’s High School. This is the school where she heard the Lord speak to her and she gave her life to Christ. It is also where her Spiritual Mom, Sylvia, lives and works as the schools’ girl’s matron. It was a very nice afternoon visiting with Momma Sylvia and also some of Faridah’s old teachers. Five days later I escorted Faridah to Kampala, so she could catch her bus to Pacwach where she started her 2nd Semester of college. Her bus ride up to Pacwach, in northwestern Uganda, is 7 hours so she reached on the 25th around 10pm. I talked to her the next morning and she had gotten her bed in the hostel and was getting settled back into college.  She had already made contact with all her fellow Christian Union students and is excited about what the Lord is going to do in the next 6 months while she is at college.

General FHLM Update: On 14 Feb I started teaching a 6 week Woman’s Business Skills Class to 15 women at River of Life Church. The women are from the local towns and villages around Masaka Town and Neyendo Town. They all have diverse educational, financial, language and life back grounds. Each of these women is in the class to either learn how to better run their current small business or they have aspirations of starting a business. This is a wonderful group of ladies and I am looking forward to the next 4 weeks of classes with them.

In early Feb the house we thought we were supposed to have for the Masaka Youth Center fell through, but as it says in Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” So we went back looking. As I said God knows where He wanted us because a house we looked at 2 months prior came open on 13 Feb. Over the next two weeks we meet with the three other Christian organizations that will be occupying the Masaka Youth Center with FHLM and got all the contact particulars and the renovation needed in place.  On 28 February we received the keys for the property and started the renovations to “Exodus House”. We ALL hope to officially move in sometime the second week of March. Please pray for continued provision, guidance and wisdom from God in ALL we dream of doing there!

I hope you know that we pray and thank God everyday for all of you that lift up FHLM with prayers, support and love.  I hope to see many of you while I’m back in the states. Tell than have an amazing day and may our Lord bless you and keep you!

Love and Blessings,

Rita
