Birthdays, Birthdays

Every month since August we have been celebrating a birthday! On 20 August David had his 19th Birthday, on 14 July Robert had his 19th Birthday and just last week on 15 October my housemate, Jacqui had her Birthday. It has been great fun celebrating the life that God gave them.

David had three wishes for his day, that he celebrate with his family, that he watch the Arsenal football match, and the we all go out for pork dinner at Ssaza. His wishes were granted and on his, his Mom, uncle and little sister Sarah come to Masaka from their village in Komysinbi to celebrate the day with him. We all enjoyed an amazing “Uganda style” pork dinner with all the trimmings; matooke, cabbage, onion and tomatoes, and enjoyed watching the football match. It is awesome that we could make all his wishes come true.

Per Robert’s request we celebrated his birthday on the Saturday after, so we could stay up and watch 24. He also wanted his favorite meal, Aunt Rita’s Spaghetti. So that Saturday we eat spaghetti with garlic bread and salad. After dinner he had two friends come over for cake and dancing. We then all settled in for a few episodes of the TV show 24 and popcorn. It was a great day!

Last weekend we celebrated Jacqui’s Birthday. I don’t think she expected much, but the boys and I surprised her with balloons, a party hat, cards and a cake. Her husband Dave made a very nice dinner for all of us. After we set around and told stories. It was a enjoyable evening.
