Bible Study Update and Guest Pastor
The boys and I continue to have weekly Bible Studies. Our church calls Bible Studies, cell groups. In February we moved our meetings from Tuesday to every Thursday. For the last 3 ½ weeks the youth have been on a school holiday break. My friend Liz, who also has a organization here in Masaka is sending her youth over to join us weekly. It has been very nice to have the numbers of our cell group increase from 4 or 5 to 13 every week.
The last two weeks we’ve had a very welcome guest teaching our group, Pastor OTim. Pastor OTim is from Soroti, Uganda and ministers all around Uganda and East Africa with my housemate, Jacqui Dowdy. He taught our cell group last year on a visit to Masaka, so we were so excited to have him back with us! The last two weeks he has been speaking to the youth about God’s Everlasting Love. These youth come from some very hard backgrounds; death of parent(s), abuse, and assault and more. Knowing that God loves them unconditionally is such a blessing to them.
The last Thursday evening that OTim was here he continued with his preaching on God’s Love. As he finished preaching he prayed for all of the youth in the group and the Holy Spirit came “rushing in”. None of the youth in the group were left unaffected. Many of them broke into tears, ask for prayer or just dropped to the floor asking the Lord for forgiveness! Jacqui, OTim and I spent over an hour praying for the youth individually and in groups of two or three. It was definitely a night of deliverance and healing. I thank the Lord for the grace, love and anointing He poured out on all of us that night.
