Ugandan Cowboys
When I was leaving for the U.S. the biggest present request from the boys was that I bring them back cowboy hats. Matthew, Rock and David all have studied the American Indians and the cowboys of the west and are fascinated by them, so naturally they want to become Ugandan Cowboys. I think what added to the mystique was one Sunday when Rock and I were walking back from church we saw a guy get out of a taxi dressed head to toe in cow-skin-clad ware. He had the pants, vest, boots and to top it all off the hat. So ever since then Rock and the other boys wanted cowboy hats.
Well that day came when I visited the children at Door of Hope to give them their presents I brought for them that I and people had bought. The girls got “Girlie Things” like nail polish, lip gloss and jewelry but the boys, well they received their precious cowboy hats. They certainly were happy and excited to pose for the camera!
I gave Rock, David, John Travis and Robert their hats on the Saturday that I took them to lunch. As you can see by the photos they were excited too. To top it off that Sunday Rock and David wore their hats to church. Rock was even decked out in shoes that looked like cowboy boots. Well there you have it we now have Ugandan Cowboys in Masaka!

RITA!!! This post seriously made me overflow with joy!!! I had a permanent smile on my face the whole time I read it! It’s so good to see the smiles on their faces and I love that they get to be goofy happy kids! I also love that you are there with them! I sent you an email last week, did you get it?
